I agree, for example I’m into clop, some of it is ho*rs. I’m not attracted to IRL horses though.
@Meanlucario
Nevermind. There’s a whole thread on it if you’re curious lol
Thread in question Fimfetch Owner outed to be a LOLCOW, Private “MLP Community Leaders” server logs leaked.

I mean, 99% of the NSFW pony art here gives them human vagin*s and they can give consent, so it’s a bit different.

Tell that to the Pokemon anime subreddit. Some of the people there think even shipping Liko and Roy is some sort of horrible perversion.
These people would not have survived the 2000s and early 2010s fandom.

Same to the current MLP fandom on Twitter who really thinks they want to kill someone because of shipping Spike with anyone.
Or even the Bluey fandom who wishes death on people who ship Bluey with either Mackenzie or Jean-Luc. (I ship the latter, it’s neat and cute)
ALL BECAUSE checks notes THEY ARE KIDS.
CHILDREN.
And if you ship fictional children, you’re f*cking dead. Antis love to use people’s age to destroy people’s lives all because of shipping FICTIONAL kids that aren’t teenagers, with everyone wanting to ridicule them.
Is Twitter allergic to children or they think all shipping is (for a lack of a better word) sussy when it’s not always necessarily that and it can just be love and the kids will grow up to have feelings for each other eventually?
I have a receipt for these kinds of people.

I believe people are just getting more and more sensitive nowadays and also because it’s easier to find a problem to point at instead of solving real issues. I mean people were shipping Zutara for years. Dipcifica is a thing and no one had any problem with it. And if people can’t tell between a fictional sentient horse who we can make as mature as possible and actual kids, it’s not really our problem. People are just getting whinier and they have nothing better to do.
It’s like what Lucky’s dad said.
No Lucky’s dad, we already raised a nation of squibs.

The difference is that unlike BlueyLuc, Blukenzie and Sparity (or other Spike ships in general), Kataang and Dipcifica were given a free pass because all four characters in the ships were over the age of 10, if they were 9 and under like Bluey or Spike, people would have problems with it, which is what people are having with me shipping Spike with somepony or shipping Bluey with Jean-Luc bc they’re children and children are unable to love (Let alone be shipped with in terms of fictional children) according to terminally online peeps.

People have a weird obsession with childhood innocence these days. Maybe they’re compesetating for their own lack of a good childhood by defending these ships no sane older person would ever even care about.
I just wish they’d keep it to themselves.

Ah, the typical “if they’re slightly older, they don’t count”, because preteens and teens aren’t kids right? I mean Dipper and Pacifica look so small they might as well be under 10. And we don’t even actually know Spike’s real age. For all we know he could already be preteen. They just call him baby dragon because they don’t know how dragon age works. I told you this is just people getting whinier and having nothing else better to do.

This is why obsessing about fictional characters ages are just asking for trouble.
Snow White and the Prince discourse being a prime example. In like 2009, when it was trendy to disect tropes in media, they figured the ages to be Snow White to be 14 and the Prince to be 22.
Apart from the fact of why someone would even need to ask this question about a simple fsmily film, this theory has been debunked where its just a minor year difference.
People think too hard about stuff these days. Part of me blames Cinemasins or tv tropes.

I think that was base on the ages in the original stories, back when your 20s were your midlife.

That wasn’t the way that age worked then. Even with all the hazards of life then, the main factor that produced the low life expectancy of pre-modern eras was high child mortality.
But in regards to the originals, it would be more likely a case of how royal/noble marriages worked these days. If you research medieval royal genealogies, you’ll find a lot of examples of girls being married off usually in the 13-17 range, and even the age difference in Cosmas’ example wouldn’t be too unusual in these circles back then.

Actually
The current age of consent came from a Moral Panic about Underage Prostitutes iirc
It’s actually funny, if we judge it based on purely the ability to give birth in a healthy fashion, it should be lower, if we judge it purely on Maturity, it should actually be higher according to studies on the brain

The fact that the brain finishes developing in 25 or something is kind of f*cked up because a lot of our lives are decided by choices in the 18-25 period

My brain already stopped developing? That explains so much.
