toolmaker at the Pratt and Whitney Division of the UnitedTechnologies Corp East Hartford died Saturday in Baystate Medical 'Center Springfield He retired in 11985 He competed in many car showsthroughout New England and re ceived awards for his 1930 Model A ord deluxe roadster including a national second place award 'from the Model A ord Club of America in 1988 The car was alsofeatured in a television advertis (ment for Blue Cross Blue Sheild of Connecticut Born in Greenfield he attended (the Clarke School for the Deaf in Northampton from 1928 to 1940 and in 1942 attended Greenfield Vocational School He received a certificate in mechanical drawing from the former Springfield Trade School in 1946 1 He attended the Deaf Ministry services at Second Congregational Church Holyoke and was a mem ber of the Clarke School Alumni Association the Western Massa chusetts Association of the Deaf and Hearing Impaired the Bay State Deaf Senior Citizens the Polish National Lodge 1625 ofTurners alls and the Pratt and Whitney Retirees Club He was also a member of the Western Massachusetts Model A ord Restorers Club the Model Aord Club of Connecticut and the 'Connecticut Valley
