Oats Bisi Bele Bath recipe with step by step photos. This famous Karnataka special meal is made using quick cooking oats, which is a savoury preparation and makes a whole meal in itself.

I’m not a big fan of consuming sweet oats porridge. But give me anything savory using oats like Oats Idli and I’m game for it. I love making this oats bisi bele bath whenever its just me for either lunch or dinner.

Unlike the traditional bisi bele bath, I prefer using english vegetables and don’t use country vegetables like brinjals, drumstick, potatoes etc.,

Whenever I make vegetable kurma, I make sure that I keep aside a handful of chopped veggies to make this. You can either use homemade bisi bele bath masala powder or store bought in which I love MTR brand for its authentic taste and flavor.

I would also like to share with you all that few days ago I was invited to a blogger meet hosted by MTR brand to launch their new range of TamilNadu Masalas. Dr.Chef Damu demonstrated few recipes in his own style which we all enjoyed a lot.

7. Add remaining 2 cups water and bring it to a rolling boil. I prefer it very loose so used 2 cups water, if you prefer it a bit thick, add only 1 to 1-½ cups water.

8. Add roasted oats and keep stirring well. Check salt at this stage and adjust accordingly.Keep cooking over medium flame and the oats will begin to absorb the water and thicken to a porridge consistency.Take off stove when it is still loose as it will continue to thicken further as it begins to cool.

nice idea to make bisibele bath using oats...bisibelebath itself is a highly nutritious and whole meal recipe...incorporating oats in this increases fibre content in the recipe....
