Riing Riingg

The alarm clock went off. The sun began shining through the window, falling on a little girl sleeping soundly in bed.

A pair of small magenta eyes fluttered open. It was a brand new day. Usually the small girl would dread getting up so early in the morning, but today was a big day.

She had wasted no time in getting up, brushing her teeth, and getting dressed. She looked in the bathroom mirror. The reflection revealed a small girl with light blue skin, messy rainbow hair, and sparkling pink magenta eyes.

Her name was Rainbow Dash, a confident and strong five year old girl.

“Today is going to be awesome!”. Dash squealed to herself.

It was her first day in kindergarten. She and her parents had just moved to a city named Cloudsdale and so far, Rainbow had really liked the town. Dash was told that this was where her father was born and raised, which made the town even cooler.

While she really enjoyed Cloudsdale, Rainbow was most excited for school and was practically bouncing off the walls. She couldnt wait to meet new friends!

“Rainbow! Come down honey! It’s time for breakfast!”, a voice called from the stairs.

“Coming mom!”, the small five year old replied as she raced down the stairs.

Rainbow ran into the kitchen, almost running into her father.

“Woah! Careful there kiddo!” the deep voice chuckled.

“Sorry! I’m just so excited!” Rainbow squeaked, her adorable voice cracking.

Rainbow sat down at the table and began eating some delicious pancakes that her mom had made. While eating, Rainbow was watching her parents.

Her mom, Windy Whistles, was washing some dishes. Her mom had the same light blue skin and magenta eyes as Rainbow, but she had short pink hair that curved behind her ears.

Windy always made sure that her daughter was happy, always telling her that she could do anything she set her mind to. She knew that her daughter had a big heart and was very energetic. For a five year old, Rainbow was very persistent and that would sometimes be a challenge for Windy. If Rainbow had her mind set on something, she would not stop trying until she got it.

However, Windy Whistles did what she needed to do and helped her daughter be the best that she could be.

Rainbow then shifted her gaze at her father, Bow Hot Hoof, who was drinking some coffee. Dash had always thought that her dad’s name was funny, but she had said that it was what made him special.

Bow Hot Hoof had purple skin, blazing yellow eyes, and rainbow hair just like his daughter. He loves soccer and it seems that it may have carried on to his daughter as well. The pair share a love for their favorite team, the Wonderbolts!

There was a time Bow had surprised his daughter with tickets to a game to see the Wonderbolts play. While watching the game, Rainbow Dash looked up at her father and said, “One day, I’m going to make it on their team and play with the Wonderbolts!”. That sentence melted Bow’s heart. It seemed that Dash was serious though, she begged her parents to take soccer lessons and is determined to be the best player there ever was. Bow admired his daughter’s determination and encouraged her to practice more and more.

Rainbow felt very lucky to have her parents. She wouldn’t know what to do without them.

Rainbow then started thinking about what kindergarten was like. She imagined about how many friends she would make, which she was most excited about. She didn’t have any siblings to play with or talk to. Her parents were great and all, but Rainbow still wanted to play with someone her own age.

Kindergarten was the perfect place to make friends! Rainbow thought about recess and how she would play soccer with her new friends. She would teach them all of her awesome tricks!

“Dashie!”, a voice called, breaking Dash’s train of thought, “It’s time to go. You don’t want to be late for your first day of kindergarten now do you?, the voice continued, who Dash figured out was her mother.

Dash gasped Oh no! The small girl jumped off her chair, raced into the living room, grabbed her backpack, and bolted for the door.

Come on!”, she shouted impatiently. Rainbow did not want to miss a minute of kindergarten and her parents were so slow!

Bow and Windy looked at eachother, they were still in the kitchen and were surprised at their daughter’s speed. All they could do was laugh. They loved their little Dashie.

“Alright kid, I’m coming!” Bow said while smiling, making his way to the living room. He hadn’t even opened the door all the way, when Dash had made her way out and bolted towards the car.

In the car, Rainbow was rambling on and on to her father about what she is going to do in school.

“And I’m going to show them how to score a goal, and dribble, and kick, and-” Rainbow suddenly stopped, they had made it to the school, Cloudsdale Elementary.

“Are you ready kiddo?”, Bow asked his daughter.

“I was born ready!” Rainbow replied with a smirk on her face.

“That’s the spirit!” Bow cheered as he ruffled Dash’s hair.

The two made their way inside and found Rainbow’s classroom, room 234. A tall woman opened the door. She had light purple skin, green eyes, and long brown hair. “Hello! I’m Mrs.Harmony!”, the woman smiled and shook Bow Hot Hoof’s hand.

Rainbow was suddenly nervous and hid behind her father’s leg. “And who are you?” Mrs. Harmony asked gently, looking at Rainbow.

“Um...R-Rainbow Dash..” she said meekly.

“Well, I am very happy to have you Rainbow Dash! Why don’t you make your way inside.” Mrs. Harmony replied.

Rainbow smiled and gave her dad a big hug. Today is going to be awesome!, Dash repeated in her head as she went inside the classroom.

Soon all of the children and parents were gone and the halls were cleared and silent...except for the sound of soft sniffles.

“They grow up so fast!” Bow sobbed as he blew his nose and headed home.
